The Day Taipei Stops
Just before 2pm on the 29th of August
As we walked into the office on the 15th floor
The sirens sounds the city must shut down
A test for a disaster or an invasion
Where you are- is where you stay
But you must all go and stay indoors
From the window I watch this eerie sight unfold
Before my very eyes where was life
Out on the street
Is now deserted but for the police
Stopping a few trying to continue on their way
Where once was sounds, now is none
So quickly Taipei shuts down
Lucky this time lasts not so very long
