Just three more sleeps and a little girl called Caitlin Jean, will turn 2 years old on Saturday the 30th November 2002. Which means we only have 13 years to fix the world for her and all other children.
How are we going?
One Mind One Voice is on track and doing very well. Thanks to the wonderful support of so many people, who realise nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it.
On the other hand, the World, is so off track, even the planet has it's hand up saying please stop before you kill me as well as yourselves.
At present the population is doubling every thirty-five years or so, in thirty-five years we can fill another planet, After seventy years we can have four planets full. In 105 years eight planets can be full and so on and so on.
At this rate we can fill a billion planets in the year 3000
By the year 3300 a hundred billion
In the year 5000 we can have a trillion galaxies full which would be every planet in the universe -if every star in the universe has a habitable planet.
Now that's a scary thought. and the Pope's solution is "Have more Children"
Australia at the moment is also very worrying.
After September 11, when Prime Minister Howard in the heat of the moment, was the first to put his hand up, when Bush on his revenge campaign- with so much hatred in his eyes and voice said " You are with us - or against us"
You didn't have to be a prophet to know - Australia from that day was a new terrorist target.
Howard picked Australia's side for us, maybe if he had not been in Washington at the time of the bombing, he may have had time to speak to others and give a bit more thought to it as Bush should have done. Choosing the right words is so important. Wars are started by words
Revenge, would have to be the most damaging word in the English language.
Dialog, the easiest to start peace
Understanding, the hardest to hear.
Compromise, the hardest to come to terms with
Sorry, while hard to say - is the most accepted word in any language.
Now for a few words from Ishmael.
"What you're experiencing is tantamount to cultural collapse. For ten thousand years you've believed that you have the one right way for people to live. But for the last three decades or so, that belief has become more and more untenable with every passing year. You may think it odd that this is so, but it's the men of your culture who are being hit the hardest by the failure of your cultural mythology. They have (and have always had) a much greater investment in the righteousness of your revolution. In coming years, as the signs of collapse become more and more unmistakeable, you'll see them withdraw ever more completely into the surrogate world of male success, the world of sports. And, much worse, you'll see them taking ever more violent revenge for their disappointment on the world around them - and particularly on the women around them."
Maybe it would help if we all sent Howard and Bush a copy of the book,
Or better still if we had Ishmael for Prime Minister!!!
If you have not already read Ishmael, buy yourself the best Christmas present, find a quiet spot and leave your distorted glasses behind and see there is still Hope.
Ishmael asks for humans to begin to look at themselves without the distorting lens that "civilization" has placed before their eyes. Ishmael will take away these glasses we have worn for too long and make we see a different view which is quite amazing.
So much so that

Speaking of Distortions, reminds me of the Rev Fred Niles,Australia, who has a wonderful way of opening his mouth at the wrong time, came out with the idea to ban women wearing the traditional Muslin dress- for fear they are all carrying bombs under them.
Meanwhile someone who does know what she is talking about is Avigail Abarbanela, a Jewish woman living in the Canberra, who has come up with Headscarf Day on this Friday the 29th November, a national day of solidarity with Muslim women and a protest against racially motivated attacks on Muslim women in Australian cities.
Now for more good news.
I am please to announce the One Mind One Voice is now a Pty Ltd company. Next step is for Caitlin's Granma Kerry to quickly make a living, then set up the foundation.
I must say at this point that another of my mentors has worked very hard this past week. Philip Levy, (Mr Stubbies) a top business consultant and accountant, who consulted for me way back in 1986. This was just after he had returned from America, where he had been for 8 years setting up Stubbies (the little Aussi shorts icon)
I was just starting a clothing business with $2,000. Philip has seen me go through many ups and downs, many times he could not understand or agree with some of my decisions. He use to say "Kerry you should be a Multi Millionairess, if you would just concentrate on YOUR business and not give so much time to the indigenous causes"
The measure of a good mentor is one who will try to hand draw a map of the roads you are thinking of taking, but will let you decide which one you take - even if it may not have been their choice.
I will never forget in the early 90's, long after he had finished consulting for me, a time when I was going through the worst times in my life. Philip and his lovely wife Lin, instead of enjoying their holiday on the coast, spent their time standing at ironing boards, ironing T-shirts, hundreds and hundreds of them, due to go out in orders. Lin told me Philip had never ironed anything before.
I don't know if he ever realised what that did for me, not financially but mentally when I most needed it.
Now all these years later, I am starting again with just over $2,000. Philip is there again and when he said he would put himself down as Company Secretary, it had the same effect as when he ironed T-shirts for me so many years ago.
Just knowing he is willing to put his name with mine means a great deal. Thank you Philip. Who says you have to have money to be very wealthy!
Secretary Philip, see what you can find out on setting up foundations, I'm too busy figuring out how best to spend $2,000. Hummmmmmmm
Philip, I can afford to buy a copy of Ishmael, for Howard and Bush!!
Back to the Birthday girl, Caitlin Jean, Futurist.
I had hoped I might get to the Birthday party on Saturday, but have a few things to finish off, then I pack the bags and head south for a long long visit. Have lots of hugs to catch up on.
Then we will be heading into an exciting 2003 which will see, One Mind One Voice become many voices from many countries, tell you how next newsletter.
Have a nice week, I will, with a Secretary like Philip Levy. Philip do you know where I can find a headscarf before Friday?
