On behalf of my grandchild, Caitlin Jean and all children of the world, I am writing this open letter to you today - in a hope it will reach you in time.
I think even you, can see by all the protest marches in so many countries around the world. That people, the ordinary people of this world do not wish for a WAR, a War with Iraq, War with Palestine, War with North Korea, or war with you or your suicide bombers.
This was made very clear by the victims of the resent Bali Bombing who if anyone should feel hatred, all but a few (who carry inner scars), see War is not the answer. In fact they just wish to be able to go back to Bali.
The world today is just coming to terms with the fact that WE (all of us) are part of this Family of Humanity and if WE don't all start pulling together, there will not be a world for any of our grandchildren, including your own.
There have been many mistakes made on all sides, to find the real truth we need to look so far back in all our history for the answers.
We are all heading for a culture collapse, our own, no more caused by you then by me, but a collapse brought on by 10,000 years of a way of life that has brought the population of this planet to the brink of extinction.
Not by wars but by our own treatment of the planet and thinking we own it - when really we just share it with every other human being, living creature and nature.
To survive as a human race we need - all of us to figure out a different way of life to the one we have - one, many found, very comfortable at the cost of many others around the world.
The point you have been trying to make.
We have not understood each other or taken the time to really listen to what the other had to say. We have in fact not cared enough about our fellow human beings.
Bush is not listening to the people of the world at the moment nor is Blair nor our Prime Minister Howard, they are so out of step with the rest of the world - but that doesn't mean you or Saddam, Arafat have to be like them and not hear.
Arafat stepped aside is to me a step for mankind, greater then any taken on the moon. Showing that he is willing to try to make Peace a reality for his people.
Maybe it is your time to show the world that you do hear the message the people of the world are sending.
A message that there has to be a better way for this strange Family of Humanity- we, all are to stop the killing of so many innocent lives, and listen to our hearts - No child's life is more or less valuable then the next We must protect all children as if they were our own. This is the message the world is sending that is not being hear in the halls of Government leaders.
As the One Mind One Voice poem says.
Across the world, across the net
Our hearts reach out and touch
Joined together for all times
No faith, no race, no hate
As we merge and become
One Mind One Voice
Reaching out like a Rainbow Serpent
Winding it's way slowly across the ancient land
Leaving a track of love upon the earth
Where our thoughts and feelings flow
Giving peace to every child

Crying out for all mankind
To forget about the past wrongs
Remember instead, the child you use to be
When your heart knew only love
Join us, spreading the word of
One Mind One Voice
Telling the world and all who listen
We are guardians, of the vision and hope
Of each and every child
They are the future, that we leave
Let's be united in our stand

Of tolerance and compassion
Understanding, a willingness to learn
Sharing knowledge and the wealth
To ease the pain and all suffering
Replace it with love and laughter

Ready to dance, to sing, to play
Grow strong and tall and proud
Hearts now filled with joy
As we reach out across the world
A family of humanity, just
