The Gathering of Open Hearts

Forgive me for sending you two emails for the week, but the one you got yesterday, " Guess What, I'm a Grandfather" was going to be part of today's newsletter, but I couldn't wait to let you know I had heard from The Premier, if you haven't read it please do, unless you have already deleted it, copied it, sold it, sent it to the Premier, it shows once again how out of touch a Government can be. When with a staff of thousands, they take over 6 weeks to answer an email and then not take one ounce of common sense to work out if the person is male or female.

At the bottom of that email I received is a telling statement, which says

Unless stated otherwise, this email represents only the views of the sender and not the views of the Queensland Government.

So I can take that to mean, The Premier made the mistake of thinking I am male?

The problem with that is, I know how the department works, someone in the department would have written the email or answer given The Premier the information for him to respond with, or they respond to it on his behalf.

That's why the email he/they have replied to was called "Don't Blame the Minister"

No wonder I called for a Royal Commission into the Department of Stuff Ups. If they can't get a simple thing like gender right, you don't have to be Einstein to work out how many mistakes they can make when it comes to families and children???

If you had received an newsletter from me and were not sure if Kerry was Male or Female, wouldn't you have just looked at the website to be sure??

The Director- General Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan, Dr Gary Song-Human LIN knows I am female, so did the President of France when his assistant emailed me on his behalf.

So do the people at the Alliance for the New Humanity gathering from around the world for the launch in Puerto Rico in December.

I am getting excited about going there, sorry if you want to come along you will have to pay, I am being taken to Puerto Rico, because I am a Grandmother :-)

I knew before I am on one of the panels, but found out on Monday I am now on a different panel with some very interesting people. http://www.anhglobal.org/gathering.html Panel V111 Old myths new tales A never ending story? or towards a human narrative? Concluding Remarks: Ignacio Ramonet (Spain/France Director Le Monde Diplomatique) professor of journalism, author) Conductor: Robert Thurman ( USA Tibetan Buddhist Scholar)

Panelists:

Shekher Kapur (India, film director) Kerry Bowden (Australia, poet, artist grandmother) Ashok Khosla (India, environmentalist, community development), Ruben Rios (Puerto Rico writer) Jim Clifton (CEO Gallup), Rinaldo Brutoco (Canada/USA, President World Business Academy)

Given my feelings why departments and governments are so out of touch, I cant think of a better panel for me to be on. The first thing I did when I received this and wasn't sure who the other panelists are, I did a search - it was so simple. Getting back to the email from The Premier, the problem is that if they were to do a search, they would bring up things written by their own department people, so it is the A never ending story- what they need to do, is start with open hearts and look towards a human narrative?

Last night I received a call from a blast from the past, Peter Clarey, who manages the wonderful Mornington Island dancers. He had worked very hard to track me down and get the phone number of where I have been staying.

They will be having an exhibition in the Noosa Gallery and want my work included. I haven't been on Mornington Island since 1982, but they know and remember --

The Quiet Achiever

Funny it was Government Stuff up's that have got me to this point in time, so I best thank them sometime :-)

Is it a Never ending story - no it is a human narrative.

No wonder I can't wait to get to Puerto Rico and be part of the New Humanity.

Like Mornington Island it has now been over ten years since I have been involved in Noosa Shire, but I am glad to say, they are welcoming me back with open hearts.

So this week I heard from two Peter's Peter, The Premier and Peter, Mornington Island Dancers, I think you can work out which one gave my soul a lift?

I haven't done any artwork for many years - but already know what I will be doing for the exhibition and how the Mornington Island Dancers can be involved in an important Noosa/ Taiwan event in May next year.

Wonder how long it would take to stir a government person into action? Kerry Bowden
