Prime Minister Howard hasn't got the message yet - maybe he needs his number crunches to do the figures for him.
What he is missing is - for all the people out marching on the streets there were, many more protesting in their own way not on the streets.
I don't know about you but I know at least 6 people who were not at a march for some reason or other - But they are still against the war
Take me for instants. I had my banner Make Love Not War and was very inspired by the brave women who went naked at Bryon Bay and Central Park New York.
Not being brave enough to go naked to the local Picnic against War
I decided to do a John Lennon and Yoko Ono and invite someone special over who's name happened to be John and we had our own love in for the weekend.
Sorry it wasn't recorded but my very private protest must be counted into the official numbers. I do have a witness who was also naked, not sure if he was protesting very much :-)
I was thinking we might have the record for the smallest protest, but then remembered
Caitlinwas Marching up and down in her room, so she has to be in the running for the smallest march
Officially they are saying the smallest march was five protesters at the
Bet they had to keep their clothes on!!
I liked Paolo Calisse's quote so much, that I emailed him and this was his reply
HI Kerry,
thanks for your work and for your kind message.
Actually, I have to say that the complete quote was:
"Antarctica is the only continent where no wars ever happened and where all countries recognise that the only way to survive is collaboration. We think this should apply to the whole world"
cheers Paolo
I am pleased to say a friend of mine and Caitlin's, who is part of the Global Children's Alliance I am busy working on as part of the Global Strategic Alliance, will be going down to visit Paolo sometime soon - more on that next week. The largest March was in Rome 2.5 Million people.
World’s newest nation participates in global protest for peace
Through Dili more than 100 East Timorese People Demonstrate Against Impending War in Iraq
Photos of marchers around the world
Lots of information can be found here
But really who cares which was the biggest, which was first, who was naked, what is important is - so many people care about Humanity.
There is no more them and us - just all of us.
A Family of Humanity
Made me think of a poem, which came from something said to me 22 years ago by Anita Aaron, one of my mentors, written when a redhead in Queensland was stirred up racial hatred in the form of One Nation.
As I watched my two year old Grandson, seven years ago - a small child like Caitlin who only knew love, I wrote the poem called WE which just struck me WE are at that point in time now.
We adults can learn a lot from children, please look at the photo and you can see inside Jayk's heart and know what he is thinking.
Just seen on the news Pauline Hanson, mentioned in the Poem is going into politics againnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. PLEASE EXPLAIN how you can when you have court action pending on election fraud????
Speaking of Politician material, Dr Robert Bowman who may be going into Politics in a big way standing for the Presidency of the USA. Bob sent me a copy of his 15th Feb speech, which I posted on the
indymedia.org site.
Kerry,
Thanks for posting my article. Bless you!
Bob Bowman
Bob it would be a better Blessing if you were in the White House right now. I know you said
"If this war happens, I will call for the impeachment of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and the whole oil mafia. I say "NO" to war against Iraq." - but that will be too late - why isn't Howard listening to you and not Bush?
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat to step aside for Peace now that's a Blessing! Good on you Arafat at least you are trying.
What a wonderful world we do live in and what interesting times we live in, there is a New Humanity on the Horizon and I am please to say I will be a big part of it.
Next weeks newsletter will show you where my Journey into Peace is taking me - into the hearts of Children around the world. I can't wait - beats politics every time.
Have a nice day I will as one of my children (Caitlin's dad) is number 7 in Australia and number 1 in Queensland for Recurve Archery and also in the Queensland team for the National titles in April - well done Mate - I am proud of you no matter where you come.
