I have had a chance to think about loyalty in the past week. So many of my loyal very dear friends are again showing me the support, I am sure George W Bush wishes he had.
Six weeks back in Noosa and I have people ready to do all sorts of things to help me.
I tell them the promise to make it a better world for all of us, (sounds like Bush doesn't it -no he promised to make it a better world for ALL OF US) then I explain my vision and plan, asks them if they want to be involved, can they do this or that for me.
Guess what not one of my friends has said, " no I think what you are doing is completely wrong leave me out".
In fact it is the opposite they pick up the vision and carry it along it's path.
Each has know me from a long time and each of them I am sure if they thought my ideas where wrong, would tell me. If they thought I was doing something very wrong they would say. " Kerry leave me out of it", after trying to talk me out of what I had in mind" sometimes I do come up with some things that could be call subversive!
Why is it some people a lot of them men have this idea that because someone does something to help you or save your bacon once or twice, that they are obligated to return the loyalty.
At what cost or how many lives ??
This week has brought more good news. The Lions Club who had their eyes on the old Scouts Hall, have decided to write to council saying they are not interested in having the hall, leaving the way clear for us to have a pretty good chance of getting it. Adele the Lions Club president has said she will go on the working group - and I do mean working group.
Given the fact that the Noosa Federation of the Arts are already working on an event for when we have the official launch in May of the Peace Embassy in Pomona.
The Noosa Sister City program are already planning to have Sister City ties with a few places I am involved with. Taiwan, Puerto Rico and even now after a meeting with one of the councillors Lew Brennan who is looking at a Sister City with Bologna, suggested I look for a place in Bologna to include in the HOPE project.
Within a hour of his suggestion I had found the perfect school about 20 kilometres from Bologna.
The link with Italy is growing by the day as Roberto Savio from the Alliance Board takes me under his wing, - or is that giving me a piggy back ride.
Roberto along with Arsenio the CEO from the Alliance have been trying to work out where I fit in the Alliance for the New Humanity.
He sent me an email after Arsenio had been in Rome to visit him. in it he said.
................................................................
I doubt that arsenio will be able to keep up with you. I think he should coopt you in his staff. An oriental theory is that when you meet a force of the nature, you do not fight, but you piggyback it...roberto
...................................................................
I have been called a lot of things but never a force of nature :-)
He also encourages me to keep banging and that is what I am going to do. Sometimes you have to bang loud enough for the people to hear you.
As I decided the first day Arsenio emailed me that the Alliance for the New Humanity Board and Arsenio are the people I would trust with Caitlin's future. I would be honoured to work along side any of them and also have my friends come along for the ride if they so desire.
But hipothetally if they (the Alliance) were to come to me one day and say - we are going to start a war with Iraq.
I would say- guys I think you are wrong and mad and if you go down that path - leave me out.
I wouldn't take me or my friends or supporter down a path I didn't want to go. In fact I am very protective where my friends come in with me, I think about them before I decide to do something out of the ordinary. Then if I know I must do it, I tell them about it before I do it, so they can abandon ship.
That's why I had trouble coming to terms with the thinking of the Italian Prime Minister when he said.

I tried to stop Bush: Italian PM
From correspondents in Brussels
November 14, 2003
ITALIAN Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said today he had tried to stop US President George W Bush from going to war against Iraq.
"I didn't support every action of the United States. I tried to persuade them not to intervene militarily," Berlusconi said.
Berlusconi said his support for the United States was partly motivated out of gratitude to the Americans who saved Europe from Nazism and Communism over the past century.
He called on Europe not to forget these sacrifices, saying it was necessary to show "loyalty."
..............................................................
Loyalty is one thing - blind loyalty is when you are dragged somewhere screaming and kicking and thrown off a bridge by a friend who knows you want him to be your friend - not your enemy.
Many countries around the world must have fond memories of what the USA did to help them at some point in time, but that was the USA not George W Bush.
Loyalty to me is when, your friends know you well enough to trust you won't take them anywhere they don't want to go. Or that you will tell them what you are thinking of doing and they will make their own decisions if they want to stand with you or not.
Saying no would never change the friendship.
Lew Wyvill QC answered yes when I asked if he would be Legal Consultant for me and the Peace Embassy.
Philip Levy agreed to be Accountancy Consultant.
Comcen my internet provider and host of the website from day one, has told me they will move up to the Coast - just so I can have a free dial up again.
Rob Middenway a very busy wonderful photographer is already working on things for the Pomona website.
in return I give them loyalty - but never blind loyalty.
Others are working on finding me a laptop computer before I go to Puerto Rico, Haven't told them yet I maybe asking them for pocket money as I have run myself so poor getting all this to a point of no return. Had to decide the other day if I would register my car or do something important for the vision - you can guess which I did - I know Philip and Lew I should look after myself first.
but many many more are saying yes to my Vision of how to make the world safer for Caitlin and all children. and as the saying goes.
"There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come."
- Victor Hugo
I would say we need to celebrate with a party soon what better time then around Caitlin's birthday at the end of the month.
Again coming back to Noosa was so right! Thank you friends.
in return I give them loyalty - but never blind loyalty like this.
"I'm the commander, I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the in- teresting thing about being the President. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation...."
— G. W. Bush (Source: The Independent)

Give me loyalty anyday - not blind loyalty maybe that is why the world is where it now finds itself.
Have a nice day, I will planning a party
