Hands of Peace Exhibition

A world project to remind us that we must protect all children, not only our own.

GOALS: To create awareness and promote, Global Children's Alliance and it's Hands on approach, of working towards Peace and a better world, for all children - by the year 2015. To reach many children, including those who may not have access to computers and our website.

OBJECTIVE: To make a very large major peace artwork using handprints of children, from different countries, cultures, religion and backgrounds, that make up our
Family of Humanity.

MATERIALS: Rolls of butcher paper (used for newsprint) poster paint, roller, brushes, rags, water, and markers.

COORIDINATOR: Kerry Bowden, to launch Hands of Peace Exhibition on the 17March 2002 at Djarragun Indigenous College, in North Queensland Australia, chosen because Australian Indigenous people have possibly the longest songline (world's longest surviving culture) and are Living Treasures.

Kerry will then shortly after travel overseas, to as many countires as possible and comtinue to include the handprints of children from around the world who make up our Family of Humanity

Children will be defined as being aged - from birth to 18 years of age. Not because we don't think of them as adults before then - but because their voices are not heard, when in most countries they can't vote before 18 years of age.

Show children the Global Children's Alliance - One Mind One Voice website, poem and movie, seek their help and input to fixing the world and the development of website.

Invite the children to make a random hand print on the rolls of butcher paper provided and to write their name, age, and where they are from next to their print.

Invite the children to make a message for peace in the form of poem, artwork, writing, to be displayed on the website One Mind One Voice for the world to view.

Using video and still camera, record the printing process, with images of the children, as they are involved in the project available on the website.

Where possible take a group photo to include in exhibition and on the website

Make link to school/ group/families website (if they have one) or information about country and culture children are from.

Suggest they may like to also be part of
