Happy New Year we are shouting around the world at the moment. What a lot of crap. What the hell are we all doing?

We the adults of the world have screwed up and it's time we all admitted it. The world is a mess and we must take the blame. All of us

I am tired of people saying look at what the young people are up to the drugs, violence etc etc.

Well I have news for them it is not the youths fault but ours- we are the parents who raised these youth, so obviously we as a world community are doing something very wrong. What a fine example the parents of the world next generation we are

The words of the United Nations

Secretary-General Kofi Annan accepting the peace prize

Calling the 20th century among the worst in history, Annan said the beginning of new century, especially the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States, had disabused those who thought ''progress toward global peace and prosperity is inevitable.''

``We have entered the third millennium through a gate of fire." Quoting from the Koran, Confucius, the Jewish Talmud and the Christian Gospels, Annan repeatedly pleaded for tolerance.

``The idea that there is one people in possession of the truth, one answer to the world's ills, or one solution to humanity's needs, has done untold harm throughout history --- especially in the last century,'' he said.

``Today's real borders are not between nations, but between powerful and powerless, free and fettered, privileged and humiliated `` he said. ``Today, no walls can separate humanitarian or human rights crises in one part of the world from national security crises in another.''

While the worlds attention has been focused on the 11th Sept. Other countries have been focusing on how they can now use the treat of terrorism as a reason to invade another country.

A story today at news.com.au "World on Watch: Aussies Warned" went on to tell us- A Australia has welcomed the new year under the renewed threat of Al-Qaeda terrorist infiltrators.

But it was a highlighted one line that we should be sitting up and taking notice of.

Pakistan's military deployments on its border with India had included preparations to transport nuclear weapons from storage sites and India also appeared to be readying its short-range Prithvi ballistic missiles for use, the Washington Times reported yesterday, citing US intelligence sources.

America may be winning the battle against Osama bin Laden's - but at what cost for future generations

I still say we need of fix the cause not the problem.
