Policy Statement

The Kids First Foundation was created to affirm the importance and value of children to our community and prioritise their safety and welfare.

The Kids First Foundation is the first Australian organisation to raise funds to provide services for abused, neglected and at-risk children nationally and integrate these services with an Australia wide research and advocacy program.

The Foundation, while itself a new entity, benefits from the breadth and wealth of knowledge of established State based organisations, recognised as leader in their field.

The founding three organizations of the Kids First Foundation are: the Abused Child Trust (QLD), the Benevolent Society of New South Wales (NSW) and Australians Against Child Abuse (VIC).

The aim of the Kids First Foundation is to raise funds nationally which will be used to:

Increase services for child victims of abuse and neglect across Australia Research the causes, effective treatment approaches and methods for reducing the incidence of child abuse and neglect in Australia;

Promote awareness about child abuse and neglect within government bodies, Australian corporations and the community at large.
